Hiram Explorer Awards
Mayor Carmen Rollins presents the Hiram Police Explorer Unit
with a Proclamation in recognition of the Explorer Program's
One Year Anniversary.
The Explorer Program gives you an excellent opportunity to learn more about the law enforcement profession. Explorer Post 1891 meets biweekly on Thursday nights, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. at the Hiram Police Department located at 217 Main Street Hiram,Georgia 30141.

The Post assists with crowd control during City events and community programs. As a member of the Hiram Police Explorer program you will receive training in many areas such as:
  • Accident investigation
  • Communications 
  • Crime prevention 
  • Crime scene processing 
  • Criminal and traffic law
  • Firearms 
  • First aid 
  • General police procedures
  • Traffic control

Membership
To become a Police Explorer, you must complete an Explorer Application and submit it to the Police Department and meet these criteria:
  • Be age 14-21
  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA in all school work
  • Have no criminal record or background
  • Have and maintain a good moral character
  • Pass a background investigation
  • Demonstrate a willingness to participate in Explorer activities
  • Not affiliated with another Police Explorer post
